Small Things Worth Keeping: A Family Gratitude Printable

Some days are worth remembering because something big happened. Others deserve a place on the page because someone made you laugh, the light changed across the yard, or you had ten quiet minutes together before dinner.

Small Things Worth Keeping is a simple printable for those ordinary days. There is no streak to maintain and no right amount to write. Use a sentence, a sketch, or a few words. Leave a prompt empty if you like. It is an invitation to notice, not another task to finish.

Start with one small thing

The first page makes room for four things: something you noticed outside, someone you are thankful for, a moment you want to remember, and one kind thing you can do next.

Try it at the kitchen table, on a cabin weekend, or after a little time outside. A younger child might draw what they saw while an adult writes down their words. Older kids and grown-ups can each keep a page of their own. Everyone does not have to share every answer.

You do not need to know the name of a bird or tree to notice it. A shape, a sound, or a color is enough. Let the page hold curiosity without turning the moment into a quiz.

Take a question along

The second page is for conversation. Pick one question for the porch or the ride home: What caught your eye today? Who made your day a little better? What was hard? What would you like to do together?

The difficult answer belongs here, too. Gratitude does not require a perfect day. Let someone tell the truth about a hard moment without rushing to fix it or find a silver lining. A quiet listen can be the whole point.

A little encouragement for Dad

You do not need a remarkable outing to make room for someone. A walk around the block, a shared chore, or five minutes sitting together can be a place to begin.

Ask one question. Give the answer your attention. If the conversation goes somewhere unexpected, follow it. There is no script you have to finish.

Keep it close

Print one page or both. Tuck a few sheets into a notebook, leave a page on the table, or keep the conversation prompts where you will see them. When a page feels worth saving, date it and slip it into a folder. An ordinary afternoon may look different when you read about it months later.

The set comes in US Letter and A4. Choose the format that matches your paper and print at actual size, or select your printer's fit option if needed. You can also read the questions on screen without printing anything.
